The PAXgene Tissue System consists of the PAXgene Tissue Fixation and Stabilization products for collection, transport, and storage of human tissue specimens and dedicated purification kits for the isolation of nucleic acids. The PAXgene Tissue DNA Kit provides optimized extraction of DNA from PAXgene Tissue fixed (PF) and PAXgene Tissue fixed, paraffin-embedded (PFPE) tissue samples. The purification is performed manually in a spin-column format, though the PAXgene Tissue DNA Kit can also be automated on the QIAcube (see protocols).
Standardized and efficient purification protocol
Based on silica-membrane technology, the PAXgene Tissue DNA Kit provides a streamlined purification protocol starting from tissues fixed and stabilized in PAXgene Tissue FIX Containers. After lysis and digestion using proteinase K, the sample is applied to a spin column where optimal conditions enable DNA to bind to the silica membrane. Contaminants are removed in simple washing steps and the final, pure DNA is eluted in a low-salt buffer.
High-quality DNA for a range of downstream applications
DNA purified with the PAXgene Tissue DNA Kit is of very high quality and purity and suitable for sensitive downstream applications including PCR, quantitative, real-time PCR, Southern blotting, SNP discovery and genotyping, and next-generation sequencing (NGS).
